A fire of significant magnitude broke out this morning at the AJ Fernandez factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. Reports indicate that the blaze originated in the packing area and rapidly spread, causing extensive damage to parts of the facility.
Footage from local sources shows thick plumes of smoke billowing from the factory while firefighters and on-site emergency teams worked to contain the flames. Law enforcement officers secured the perimeter, urging drivers to proceed with caution to facilitate the movement of fire response personnel.
Early reports confirm that all employees, including students from the company’s school, were safely evacuated. While the full extent of the damage is still being assessed, video evidence suggests that multiple sections of the factory, including a rolling area, were impacted.
