La Aurora today announced it will be taking over handling of its U.S. brands starting in April through a Miami-based operation, taking over from Miami Cigar & Co., which had handled its distribution.
Ed McKenna, formerly of STG and Bacardi, will be in charge of the recently formed La Aurora USA. He will be joined by John Ferrigan, formerly of Breakthru Beverage Group and STG. Both will be handling sales and retail operations.
McKenna and Ferrigan will join reps from the sales team in visiting its retail partners beginning this month, the company said. All La Aurora cigar orders should continue to be placed through Miami Cigar for now.
“I look forward to the contributions from Ed and John, along with those from the LUSA Team, in shaping and driving La Aurora’s future growth in the most important US premium cigar market,” La Aurora owner Guillermo León said in a press release.
