Carolina Blue Cigars has reached a distribution deal with Illusione Cigars, which will use its U.S. retailer base of 800 stores to give a higher profile to the North Carolina producer. And Carolina Blue can thank the FDA for making the introduction.
Christopher Moore, owner of Carolina Blue Cigars, said in a press release that “I found myself in the middle of mass back and forth email when the respondents should have been replying to the FDA. I sent an email asking everyone to direct their responses to the sender instead of the recipients and that’s when a representative from Illusione thanked me for speaking up. That little interaction led to a conversation about my brand and if I had distribution.”
Moore hopes that Carolina will benefit from having dedicated brokers directly market his brand, which has ten blends on the market: five Dominican (Signature Series) and five Nicaraguan (Highway 101 Series).
