Crowned Heads Announces Blood Medicine LE 2024

Blood Medicine

Crowned Heads is excited to announce Blood Medicine Limited Edition 2024, a tribute to the company’s hometown of Nashville, Tennessee, the first time it has been offered outside of an event-only smoke.

Blood Medicine showed up first in 2015 when it was launched as an event-only cigar with an original production of 6,000 cigars.  Blood Medicine was in 2022 again offered as an event-only cigar at Squire Cigars in Santa Rosa, California.

The Blood Medicine blend features an Ecuadorian wrapper, Ecuadorian Connecticut binder, and Nicaraguan filler. Blood Medicine LE 2024 comes in 12-count boxes and retails for $11.95. It is produced at the TacaNlcsa factory in Esteli, Nicaragua, under the supervision of Eradio Pichardo. Shipping will begin later this month.

“To this point, we’ve only utilized Blood Medicine as an event-only, gift-with-purchase cigar, and always in a traditional 5 x 50 robusto vitola,” Crowned Heads co-founder Jon Huber said in a press release. “The blend has always been truly exceptional, and based upon the inquiries and feedback I was personally receiving, I felt as though not enough people were receiving the opportunity to enjoy it. So late last year, we decided to take the blend, adjust it to a 6 x 52 vitola, and make it available internationally.”

Blood Medicine takes its name from a three-story building on the corner of Broadway and 4th Avenue in downtown Nashville. That building was originally built as a pharmacy in 1872 before being converted into a hotel in 1892. The hotel operated until the 1980s, and in 1988 the building was purchased and re-opened as Merchants Restaurant, which is still in operation today. On the original exposed brick wall on the third floor of Merchants Restaurant, a portion of the painted words, “Blood Medicine,” remains visible.
