COHIBA TO SHIP NEW EDITION OF WELLER BY COHIBA

Cohiba

The third iteration of Weller by Cohiba is arriving at U.S. retail shops. Like previous Weller by Cohiba  releases, the limited-edition blend is made with tobacco aged in bourbon barrels.

Developed in partnership with Weller Bourbon, the 2023 release of Weller by Cohiba features a Connecticut-grown Broadleaf binder leaf that has been aged in Weller Bourbon barrels transported from the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, to General Cigar Dominicana in Santiago, DR, where the cigars were produced.

Dressed in a Nicaraguan Jalapa wrapper, the blend is made with filler tobaccos from the Esteli and Jalapa regions of Nicaragua, with Brazilian Mata Fina.

Weller by Cohiba 2023 is being released in a 6 x 50 Toro ($24.99) and comes in aluminum tubes in 10-count boxes.

“For our third blend of Weller by Cohiba, we deepened the exploration of barrel aging on tobacco,” Cohiba Brand Ambassador Sean Williams said in a press release. “In calling upon Weller bourbon barrels to deepen the complexity of the binder leaf, we have added a layer of dimension that makes itself known not only on the palate but also through the aroma. This is a sophisticated cigar that pairs beautifully with bourbon or aged brown spirits and delivers a decadent smoking experience on its own.”
