Oliva Cigars is releasing the Figuriño, part of its annual limited edition release of the Melanio that is not part of the normal production and in the round format rather than the box pressed. This year, Oliva’s Figuriño comes in a wooden box and is shaped like a Figurado but tapered at both ends.
Oliva is producing 14,500 10-count boxes, with each box containing a QR code that will unlock the story behind the cigar.
“When the Oliva and Vandermarliere families united to become one big family of cigars, it was because of a shared passion for an incredible heritage and out of an ambition for its future,” Oliva owner Fred Vandermarliere said in a press release. “With the Figuriño limited edition, we prove once again that tradition and innovation can go hand in hand, if they respect the heart of the craft: purity and purpose.”
This year’s box features a vista of the Jalapa Valley in Esteli, Nicaragua Oliva’s Hacienda de Ernesto, Oliva’s tobacco growing operations.
The Figuriño will be launched at PCA 2023 July 7-11 in Las Vegas and also featured at the InterTabac Show Dortmund in September.
