J.C. Newman Cigar Co. announces Angel Cuesta cigars, an historic brand that was the official cigar of King Alfonso XIII, who ruled Spain from 1886 to 1931.
The line is produced in The American Room at J.C. Newman’s El Reloj cigar factory in Tampa, and feature an Ecuador Havana Rosado wrapper with a blend of binder and filler tobaccos from three continents and a pigtail cap.
Angel Cuesta comes in a 5.5 x 56 Doble Robusto ($18), a 6.25 x 52 Doble Toro ($19) and a 7.25 x 57 Salomones ($22). They are packaged in 20-count boxes.
A team of two rollers roll 150 Angel Cuesta cigars per day, making this a limited production. These are expected to be released to retailers twice a year and are also available to those visiting J.C. Newman’s factory store.
A century ago, Angel Cuesta was one of the leaders of the cigar industry in Tampa. Inside each box of Angel Cuesta cigars is an excerpt of a story by Angel Cuesta on why Tampa was determined to be the cigar capital of the world.
