PCA Launches First Grassroots Campaign in Canada

Nevada

The Premium Cigar Association (PCA) is embarking on a grassroots campaign in Canada to help defend  the rights of cigar smokers across the country.

Cigar smokers in Canada face increasing restrictions on the sale of, marketing, and consumption of premium cigars. The most recent regulatory proposal by Health Canada rolls premium cigars in with all other tobacco forms and complicates packaging requirements for premium cigar distributors and retailers.

“Cigar smoking has long been a tradition and a passion for many Canadians,” a PCA press release states. “It is a social activity that brings people together and provides enjoyment and relaxation. However, Health Canada is proposing a new health warning label regulation that would cover 75% of the cigar packaging, effectively demonizing cigar smokers and their choice to use a legal product.”

The Premium Cigar Association invites all interested parties both domestic and international to cigaraction.org to keep track of issues and actions regarding government regulation of premium cigars.
