The Puro Sabor festival in Nicaragua is on for next year, the first since 2020. The festival begins in the colonial city of Granada on January 23 and moves to Esteli for guided tours and visits to farms and factories of some of the most popular cigar brands in the world.
“After being absent for three years, we are very excited to announce that we are once again opening the doors of our industry to receive our guests,” Manuel Rubio Centeno, president of the Nicaraguan Chamber of Tobacco, host of the festival, said in a press release.
The festival was canceled in 2018 due to civil unrest in the country. It was held in 2020, but has been canceled the past two years, citing the Covid-19 pandemic,
On June 16, the country’s Ministry of Health eliminated the requirement of a negative Covid test to enter the country. With this resolution, Nicaragua joins the rest of Central and North American countries in eliminating this requirement.
