Ace Prime will launch Maria Lucia as an exclusive at the 2022 Premium Cigar Association trade show July 8-12 in Las Vegas.. The cigar is inspired and named for Maria Lucia Meirelles, mother of Ace Prime founder Luciano Meirelles.
The 5.25 x 54 box-pressed cigar ($12.80) has a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, Sumatra Ecuador / HBN 92 Ecuador binder and fillers from Nicaragua, Dominican and Peru. It comes in 12-count boxes.
“It took me many years before I dared to blend something inspired by my mother,” Meirelles said in a press release. “She passed away when I was only twelve years old, and it was only recently that I was able to fully understand and know her complicated life’s story,”
The cigar box and band feature art by Meirelles’ oldest daughter, Deborah, a Paris-based artist and fashion designer. Without ever seeing a photograph of her grandmother as a teenager, she drew the portrait of a woman she dreamed of.
