The Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Nicaragua is expanding with the addition of the 5.5 x 60 Espeso ($18). The new size is scheduled to ship to retailers May 1, packaged in a ten-count wooden box.
The soft pressed Nicaraguan puro was created by AJ Fernandez and Rafael Nodal as a tribute to the first Montecristo cigar made in 1935.
“The Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Nicaragua blend works incredibly well in the new Espeso vitola,” Rafael Nodal, head of product capability for Altadis U.S.A., said in a statement. “ In my opinion the new vitola amplifies the flavors and complexity of the blend.”
