CAO is bringing back the Amazon Basin, which debuted in 2014, to U.S. retailers. The 6 x 52 will come in 18-count boxes at $12.99 a stick.
Rare tobacco from a remote region in the Amazonian Rainforest in Brazil inspired the creation of CAO Amazon Basin. The tobacco is harvested every three years and seedlings are transplanted a yard apart from each other, resulting in a lesser yield than other tobacco plants.
In producing the Amazon Basin, the Brazilian leaf takes center stage in the filler, which also contains Dominican and Colombian tobacco. It comes with an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder.
“When we launched Amazon Basin, we had a unique opportunity to use Amazonian tobacco before anyone else in the world had used it,” CAO Master Blender Rick Rodriguez said in a statement. ” It gives us great pleasure to re-introduce this incredible blend and share the extraordinary smoking experience it delivers with our fans.”
