Rocky Patel has joined the expanding list of collaborators for JR Cigar’s 50th Anniversary Series. Rocky and the JR team looked to the ALR line, one of his most highly rated cigars, for inspiration.
The ALR, which stands for aged, limited and rare, set the tone for the line and was followed by the ALR Second Edition which is the blueprint for the collaboration.
The Rocky Patel ALR Second Edition JR 50th is produced at Tabacalera Villa Cuba and uses Nicaraguan binder and filler, with a Mexican leaf wrapper
The box pressed 6.5 x 52 Toro ($14.70) is packaged in custom boxes of 10 ($132.50) as opposed to the boxes of 20 with its original release. The cigar will be available October 5 exclusively at www.JRCigars.com.
“Fifty years in this industry is an historic achievement,” Patel said in a statement. “The ALR Second Edition is one of our most sought after and critically acclaimed cigars, so I thought it would be the perfect addition to JR’s celebration series.”
