Diesel announces a new, seasonal full-time line, “Sunday Gravy,” with limited-edition blends released quarterly and sold at $4.99 a stick.
The Gravy debut is the 6 x 54 San Marzano, a bold smoker with an Ecuadorian wrapper, Nicaraguan Esteli binder and Nicaraguan Jalapa filler. It comes in ten-count boxes and ships August 12.
Sunday Gravy is produced at Tabacalera AJ Fernandez in Esteli and blended via Diesel’s partnership of AJ Fernandez and Justin Andrews.
Of working with AJ Fernandez, Andrews in a press release says, “His process actually reminds me of my Mom and how she cooked her Sunday sauce slowly over a low flame, knowing she had the luxury of being able to cook all day on a Sunday to get it just right. The comparison to cooking inspired the name of this new collaboration with AJ, and it’s actually very similar to his approach. AJ never rushes the tobacco.”
The next Sunday Gravy blend will be released in October for the holiday season.
