InterTabac, an international tobacco trade fair, has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, organizers announced.
The show was scheduled to take place in September in Dortmund, Germany. It has been tentatively rescheduled for September 15-17, 2022.
“Working closely with the industry associations and partner associations, the conceptual sponsors, the advisory board and the exhibitors of the twin fairs, it has become clear that the vast majority is against holding the events this September, as previously announced,” Sabine Loos, managing director of the Westfalenhallen Unternehmensgruppe, said in a statement. The group owns the convention center and hosts the conference.
It is the second consecutive year the trade show has been cancelled due to the virus.
The event drew 13,800 guests in 2019, according to organizers, the last year it was held. It claimed 520 exhibitors from 47 countries, with 42 percent of its patrons coming from abroad.
