General Cigar is adding an extension to its popular Macanudo Inspirado line. The Macanudo Inspirado Red features an Ecuadorian Habano ligero wrapper around Nicaraguan tobaccos from Ometepe (aged 12 years) and Estelรญ (aged five years), as well as Honduran tobacco from Jamastrรกn (aged 10 years).

Nicaraguan cigars are hot right now,โ said Josรฉ de Castro, vice president of marketing for General Cigarโs Macanudo brand, in a press release. โWith โInspirado Red,โ we show how nimble the brand can be by introducing a unique, Nicaraguan-forward blend to the line, while highlighting the expertise of the torcederos from our cigar factory in Esteli.โ
Macanudo Inspirado Red, made at STG Esteli in Nicaragua, will be available in late March and come in three formats: a 5 x 50 box pressed Robusto ($6.49), a 6 x 50 Toro ($6.69) and a 6 x 60 Gigante ($7.49).
