The second night of back-to-back “meatings” for the Red Meat Lover’s Club but this time on the deck of the USS New Jersey. Decommissioned in 1991, the ship thathas earned more battle stars than any other Iowa-class battleships in the US fleet played host to a couple hundred rabid meat lovers on a beautiful evening. A portion of the proceeds from the evening went to support the historic battleship. Steve Saka of Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust provided cigars for the evening as well as Cubanacan Cigars. A number of live auction items sold to help the battleship but the most interesting was a chance to fire one of the cannons on the ship. Even with a countdown and full anticipation, the blast still rattled the crowd.
