JC Newman announces the 5 x 56 Yagua Robusto ($10.50).
Rolled without molds or presses, each cigar is uniquely shaped and bundled together while still wet using a Yagua palmiche palm leaf, just as it was done generations ago. No two cigars are exactly alike.
โYagua is a difficult cigar to roll because we use an underfermented Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, blend the filler tobaccos differently, and do not use the usual tools and techniques of a cigar factory,โ Drew Newman, fourth-generation J.C. Newman Cigar Co. owner, said in a press release. โAs the wrapper is not fully fermented, we have to age the cigars for a full year after they are rolled.โ
